A Glimpse into Your Photographer

There is beauty in what is natural and my goal is to capture it in it’s best light.

Trust is the foundation to every relationship, so let me begin this introduction with an honest truth—I suck at Bios. I never know how to begin and after the 100th re-write I start to cringe at my reach for accomplishments. So let’s get straight to the point!

What sparked your interest in photography?

I have enjoyed taking photos since before I could remember. From polaroids to my first Canon PowerShot G in high school, my interest in photography began to grow in Mr. Ruck’s dark room. I would have loved to say I began taking photography in high school, but the truth is Mr. Ruck would let me skip class to hang out in his classroom. He inspired me to take a few photography courses in College. It was there where I learned to develop my own my photos and fell in love with every detail and step of the process. Understanding light, composition and balance opened my eyes—It changed the way I viewed the world, nature, people and life.

What began as a passionate hobby, began to manifest as a dream career. As I was blessed with more opportunities to travel, what was once a spark ignited into a flame and jumped the start of my transition into this field.

Do you also do Video?

I have dabbled with video. My interest in videography grew as I began to travel more. I purchased a pricey drone (DJI Mini 4 Pro) to document my travels and adventures and it has definitely opened the door to expand my work. Video editing is a lot more challenging than photo editing but I love to take on challenges and integrating photo and video is something I would like to work on more in the future.

What is your preferred style of photography?

It is always hard to choose a favorite, but I have always gravitated toward Macro Photography. I love to capture details and play with light. I enjoy myself the most when photographing wildlife, plants and nature but the work I am most proud of are photographs that capture emotion. I live for candid moments and lifestyle portraits. There is a beauty in what is natural and my goal is to capture it in it’s best light.

How do you ensure your client’s vision while bringing your own creative perspective?

Before scheduling a shoot, I like to take the time to get to know the client’s vibe. During the scheduling process, I have provided some intake forms that help me get to know what your goals are for the shoot. What story do you want your photos to tell? I’ve also included the option to upload inspirational photos you wish to re-create in your shoot. This intake process helps me to understand the vibe the client is going for and from there, my creative mind begins to roll.
Communication is the key to every relationship, I follow up with each client at least once before the shoot to coordinate and share ideas to ensure we’re all on the same page.
